Agent skill
Teach your coding agent to plan, build, check and render videos with reelcn, with eight recipes for common videos.
The reelcn skill turns a request in plain words, like "make a launch video for Relay", into a rendered Remotion video. It knows the whole job: which template or storyboard fits, how to brand it, how to check it before rendering, and how to render.
Install
Run this in your Remotion project:
npx skills add Karanjot786/reelcnFor films with planned motion, music and a checked render, add the motion design skill too.
The skill ships a catalog snapshot (every item with its length, use and avoid notes) and eight recipes. Its first line points at the live llms.txt, so the agent always sees the current catalog.
Ask for a video
Describe the video you want. The skill matches the request to a recipe:
| Ask for | Recipe |
|---|---|
| A new product or a major release | Product launch |
| One feature, as a vertical short | Feature short |
| Release notes, "what's new" | Changelog |
| A how-to for a developer tool | Tutorial |
| A podcast episode or segment | Podcast clip |
| A recorded person talking, with captions | Talking-head short |
| Results, metrics or research | Data story |
| A channel opener | YouTube intro |
Each recipe gives a scene order, lengths, the items to use and a ready JSON example. When nothing matches, the agent writes a storyboard from the catalog's scene types.
What the agent does
- Names the video type and picks the matching recipe.
- Takes the lightest path. It installs a template when one fits, writes a storyboard when none does, and builds a custom scene in JSX only when neither can express it.
- Brands it with a theme preset, your accent color, logo and heading font.
- Picks the format: 16:9 for YouTube and websites, 9:16 for Shorts, Reels and TikTok, 1:1 for feeds. The same props render every format.
- Reviews a contact sheet before rendering: text inside the safe zones, nothing clipped at 9:16, no empty frames.
- Checks determinism, so every render comes out the same (see Determinism).
- Renders with
npx remotion render.
Rules it follows
- Text stays inside the platform safe zones, and sizes come from design units, so one video fits every format.
- One idea per scene, and scene lengths come from the content rather than a guessed duration.
- Numbers beat adjectives on screen: "4,200 teams", not "thousands of happy teams".
- No
Math.random,Date.nowor CSS animations, which would make renders differ.
